Scenic S240 highway opens, linking Northwest China

The S240 highway opened to traffic on Oct 26, connecting Northwest China's deserts and mountains into a unique and charming landscape road.

It is reported that the S240 highway starts from Fangshankou at the border of Gansu province and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, connects with the S245 provincial road in Hami of Xinjiang, and ends with the G215 highway section in Dunhuang of Gansu. With a total length of 164.8 kilometers, it is another major transportation channel between Xinjiang and Gansu.
