The Heilongjiang River has begun to freeze after temperatures recently dropped in Huma county in the Daxinganling region of Heilongjiang province.

Massive crystal ice floes on the river rumble as the spectacular landscapes at the Sino-Russia border attract residents and photographers.

"Over the past week, I have come to the riverside every day to capture the drifting ice floes," said local photographer Fu Jun. "I finally welcomed the magnificent scene, allowing me to truly see the appearance of winter."

The river starts its ice floe period at the end of October every year. It takes about 20 days for the river to fully freeze, marking the beginning of its six-month frozen period, according to the county's water resources bureau.
