BMW said it is looking to strengthen cooperation and innovation with China's leading technology players to develop products tailored to meet the needs of Chinese consumers.
The German premium carmaker made the remarks on Tuesday at the 7th China International Import Expo, which runs to Nov 10 in Shanghai.
At its booth this year, BMW is showcasing six products from its high-performance M family, including the all-new BMW M5, which was just launched at the BMW M Festival 2024.
The BMW vehicles on display range from combustion-engine vehicles to plug-in hybrids, as well as all-electric models.
Sean Green, president and CEO of BMW Group Region China, said: "Regardless of drivetrain, BMW will continue to pursue sheer driving pleasure."
"We are firmly convinced that through open innovation and cooperation with China's leading tech players, we can create products tailored to the needs of Chinese consumers, making a mobility experience that is human, intelligent and responsible," he said.
This year's BMW booth also features an area dedicated to the Neue Klasse. The Neue Klasse embodies advancements in design, technology, and philosophy, pushing the BMW Group into the future.
Innovations in the Neue Klasse will be applied in all BMW models. The first locally produced Neue Klasse model will roll off the line in Shenyang, Liaoning province, starting from 2026.
