CIIE sees intended deals rise to over $80b

The value of intended deals reached at the 7th China International Import Expo rose 2 percent year-on-year to exceed $80 billion, Wu Zhengping, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, said at a news conference on Sunday, when the six-day exhibition closed.

Up to 450 new products, technologies and service items made their debut at this year's CIIE, up from 442 last year, according to Wu.

Companies have already signed up for over 100,000 square meters of exhibition area for the 8th CIIE to be held in November next year, he added.

Covering over 420,000 square meters, the 7th CIIE attracted participation of about 3,500 exhibitors. Up to 297 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders were present at this year's expo, hitting a new record high.
