On a summer noon in July, a 2.4-meter-tall, two-ton statue was slowly placed onto its pedestal at the south gate of the Shanghai Museum. The statue belonged to Merneptah, the fourth Pharaoh of Egypt's 19th Dynasty. After traveling over 3,000 years and more than 10,000 kilometers, it arrived in Shanghai, journeying all the way from Luxor Museum in Egypt.
