Italian Screens — New Italian Cinema in Beijing, a project aimed at enhancing the overseas distribution of Italian films, opened this year's Chinese edition in Beijing on Tuesday, and will exhibit a total of six new films at the China Film Archive until Nov 22.

The opening film, There's Still Tomorrow, is a black-and-white feminist comedy set in the 1940s. It soared as the highest-grossing film in Italy last year, sweeping six statuettes, including the best directorial debut and actress, at the 69th David Di Donatello Awards, Italy's equivalent of the Oscars.

The other five Italian films set to reach Chinese fans are Gloria!, Kidnapped, A Brighter Tomorrow, Trust, and Thank You Guys.
