A national village cooking competition is ongoing in Baojing county, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, Hunan province.

From Friday to Tuesday, representatives from the province competed using their cooking skills.

Following this, from Nov 24 to 30, representatives from 34 provinces and regions will join the competition, making it a significant culinary event to foster communication and share culinary expertise.

The competition will be held at 34 distinct buildings, each reflecting the unique local architectural styles of their respective provinces and regions.

The event also features representative performances of intangible folk culture.

Each dish embodies the unique culture and allure of its place of origin. The exchange of ideas and flavors helps promote and innovate Chinese food culture.
