China striker Zhang Yuning to seek treatment on ankle injury in Holland
BEIJING -- China striker Zhang Yuning has confirmed that he will go to Holland next week to receive treatment on his ankle injury.
The Chinese striker said he twisted his right ankle after scoring the winner in injury-time of China's 1-0 win over Bahrain last Thursday.
According to a statement issued by his club Beijing Guoan on Wednesday, Zhang felt acute pain on his right ankle and needed further medical checks to determine the injury.
The 27-year-old forward has made up his mind that he will next week go to a rehabilitation center in Amsterdam, Holland, which he has visited several times before, to have his injury treated.
The China's soccer season is near the end, allowing him time to recover.
"Originally I had expected to switch off and have a good holiday, now I have to take the time to deal with the injury and rehabilitate. Fortunately, the next match for the Chinese team will be played in late March," he said.
