Intl delegates explore investment opportunities in Guangzhou

Around 30 consular officials and representatives of international chambers of commerce gathered in Huangpu district in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, on Nov 26 for a business promotion event.

Themed on "Sailing Together Toward a Better Future", the event aimed to display Huangpu's investment environment, foster business exchanges, and promote investment cooperation.

The delegation explored Huangpu's investment environment, fostering connections with local businesses. Flying car maker XPeng Aeroht and aerial vehicle company EHang Intelligent Technology showcased manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, unveiling their technological prowess and plans for the future.

Panika Pittayavestsoonthon, consul general of Thailand in Guangzhou, highlighted collaborations between high-tech firms like EHang and various Thai companies which promote technological advancements in Thailand's tourism and agriculture sectors.

Loh Tuck Keat, consul general of Singapore in Guangzhou, praised Huangpu's international development landscape, singling out the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City for its strides in industrial growth and tech innovation.

Martin Klose, executive director and board member of the German Chamber of Commerce in South and Southwest China, commended Huangpu's business-friendly environment and expressed his eagerness to contribute German expertise in green technology to the cause of sustainable development.

In recent years, Huangpu district has attracted numerous global enterprises through its various investment strategies, hosting over 5,000 multinational corporations and more than 330 Fortune 500 investment projects. From January to October, the district welcomed 248 newly established foreign enterprises, with high-tech industries accounting for 60.9 percent of actual use of foreign capital.

The event featured a special session for enterprise roadshows, where local companies showcased their independent innovations and outstanding products.
