Quique Setien appointed Beijing Guoan head coach

BEIJING - Spaniard Quique Setien has been appointed head coach of Beijing Guoan, the Chinese Super League (CSL) club announced on Tuesday.
Born in 1958, Setien started his player career at home team Racing de Santander and also coached a number of teams including Real Betis and Barcelona after retirement.
"Coach Setien has abundant experience and is good at cultivating young players. We believe that he will bring new vitality and lead the team to attain new heights," Beijing Guoan said in a statement.
In the 2024 CSL which concluded in November, Beijing Guoan finished fourth with 16 wins, 8 draws, and 6 losses.
