Potala Palace celebrates 30 years as UNESCO World Heritage site

An exhibition featuring more than 100 items of cultural relics was held on Tuesday at the Potala Palace in Lhasa of the Xizang autonomous region to mark the 30th anniversary of its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site. [Photo by Palden Nyima/chinadaily.com.cn]

Visitors will find a delineation of various facets of the palace, such as relic preservation, ancient architectural conservation and technological advancements, showing its evolution from traditional roots to modern adaptations and from a tapestry of diversity to a unified entity.

Additionally, the management office convened a symposium commemorating the 30th anniversary on Tuesday night.
