Operating under pressure: Exclusive interview with Operation Hadal's filmmakers

After the release of action thriller Operation Hadal, the film's chief producer Yu Dong and director Dante Lam shared behind-the-scene stories, especially how they filmed thrilling action shots underwater, during an exclusive interview with China Daily online show Spotlight.

Operation Hadal, a follow-up to Operation Red Sea (2018), features deep-sea battles involving submarines. The film was revealed by its creators to have been shot on sound stages in Qingdao, Shandong province, with the total area of the facilities spanning 46,000 square meters. Also the largest submarine model that the filmmakers created was 120 meters long, while a number of models of naval vessels were also built. To find out more, click the video.
