US, Russia delegations meet in Saudi capital

RIYADH -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks here on Tuesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Held in the presence of Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the talks "were part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to promote global security and peace", the statement said.

Other US officials in Riyadh include National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. On the Russian side, senior political, intelligence, and economic officials participated, including Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign affairs adviser.
