Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Wednesday that China-US business relations are based on reciprocal interactions, and Beijing will firmly oppose Washington's arbitrary pressure.

Mao made the remarks when asked at a regular news briefing in Beijing whether China has had adequate communication with the US administration, particularly on trade and other economic issues.

"We have stated our position more than once. We always believe that the two sides should address each other's concerns through dialogue and consultation on the basis of equality and mutual respect," she said.

Noting that the China-US business relations are based on reciprocal interactions, Mao emphasized that cooperation should bring about mutual benefit and win-win results.

"If (the US) persists in exerting pressure on China, the Chinese side will definitely take countermeasures," she added.
