Wuxi's cherry blossom week blooms to boost international communication

Wuxi's enchanting cherry blossoms are poised to take center stage as the city, which is located in Jiangsu province, welcomes its International Month and International Cherry Blossom Week from Thursday to May 1.

Embracing the essence of spring, the events promise a spectacle of natural beauty and cultural celebration.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations, Wuxi has launched the "Dialogue with Europe" initiative, featuring 14 sub-events across various sectors such as trade, culture, tourism and sports.

Representatives from more than 10 European countries will visit Wuxi for friendly exchanges to enhance cooperation in multiple fields.

European multinational companies will participate to facilitate communication between governments and businesses.

Mayor Zhao Jianjun highlighted the significant role of foreign enterprises, especially those from Europe, in Wuxi's economic and social progress.

He emphasized Wuxi's commitment to becoming a premier destination for foreign investment, providing robust policy support and fostering a conducive business environment.

"In the future, Wuxi's determination to expand high-level opening up will not waver," he said. "We will always focus on building the most satisfactory city for foreign investment, providing substantial policy support, nurturing a thriving industrial ecosystem, creating a harmonious business environment, fostering an innovative atmosphere, and cultivating a fertile environment for development."

"We look forward to more European companies choosing Wuxi and increasing their investments here," Zhao added.

Next week, the Wuxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries will host International Cherry Blossom Week and the 38th anniversary of the construction of the China-Japan cherry blossom friendship forest. Participants from China and abroad will plant cherry blossom trees at Yuantouzhu scenic area, fostering friendship and discussing development.

Wuxi's Yuantouzhu scenic area, renowned as one of the world's top three cherry blossom viewing spots, continues to attract international tourists, further boosting tourism and spending in the city.
