China and Pakistan reaffirm commitment to strengthen cooperation

China and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering cooperation and friendship at a national day reception hosted by Pakistani embassy in Beijing on Thursday.
The event was attended by senior Chinese officials, diplomats, members of the Pakistani community, representatives from Chinese state-owned and private enterprises, academics and leading media personnel, among others.
Calling the two countries good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers, vice-foreign minister Sun Weidong highlighted the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan.
He further underscored China's commitment to the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan.
Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, reflected on their historical connections dating back to the times of the ancient silk route, emphasizing that China-Pakistan relations are underpinned by mutual trust, respect and shared aspirations for regional peace and stability.
He commended the role of the Pakistani community in strengthening China-Pakistan ties and called for deeper cooperation in business, science and technology, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
A special cultural performance by Chinese and Pakistani children was also showcased at the reception, highlighting the cultural affinity and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
