iQIYI to stream BBC's 'Walking with Dinosaurs' exclusively in China

iQIYI and the BBC recently announced the exclusive premiere of the new six-part documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs on iQIYI's Documentary and Kids channels in Chinese mainland. The partnership was revealed during the UK-China Screen Forum at the 29th Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART).
Produced by BBC Studios Science Unit, the new series leverages cutting-edge technology to bring the prehistoric world to life with stunning visual effects. Viewers will be immersed in the dramatic lives of these ancient giants, with each episode featuring gripping stories based on the latest archaeological discoveries.
iQIYI and BBC Studios executives expressed shared enthusiasm for the partnership. Ning Yuqi, director of the iQIYI Documentary Center, stated, "Our collaboration with the BBC enhances our premium documentary offerings and provides engaging content for viewers. We will integrate online and offline resources to expand the IP's influence through diverse strategies, reimagining these ancient dinosaur legends for modern audiences."
Wang Jing, General Manager of iQIYI Integrated Copyright Business, emphasized the platform's commitment to quality content, noting that the collaboration offers "a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity about science and paleontology, especially among younger audiences."
Phil Hardman, Executive Vice President and General Manager of BBC Studios Asia, said, "After more than 25 years since the original, Walking with Dinosaurs will be back on our screens this year and launched exclusively on iQIYI for Chinese mainland audiences.
