China firmly opposes the United Kingdom for once again fabricating the so-called six-monthly report on Hong Kong to interfere in China's internal affairs and smear the human rights and rule of law in the region, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday.
He urged certain individuals to get out of the colonial mindset, respect China's sovereignty, respect the rule of law in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, stop making irresponsible remarks on the trial of judicial cases in Hong Kong and cease shielding and condoning disruptors in the region.
The fact is that Hong Kong's security, democracy, and people's freedom and rights are more effectively protected, and its development prospects are brighter, Guo said.
He added that the total number of non-local companies registered in Hong Kong has reached a record high and the region has shown the world a safer, freer, more open and more predictable business environment.
