Guangdong's drive for AI and robotics innovation

Guangdong is stepping up efforts to support the growth of artificial intelligence and robotics companies, aiming to drive breakthroughs in technology industrialization, product marketization and service commercialization in the coming months, a senior official said.

This move aims to provide high-quality and affordable products and services for local companies and residents, accelerate the empowerment of thousands of industries with AI, and deepen the application of "robot+" scenarios, Qu Xiaojie, deputy director of Guangdong Department of Industry and Information Technology, said on Wednesday.

"Meanwhile, Guangdong, a global innovation center, sincerely welcomes scientists, entrepreneurs, and young talents from around the world in the fields of AI and robotics to invest and develop the AI and robotics industry in the province," he said.

Qu promised his department would persist in ensuring the coordination of resources, cultivation of enterprises, industrial agglomeration, ecological optimization and promotion of exchanges to support enterprises' innovation and development in AI and robotics industry in the province, a major production base in the world.

Qu made the remarks at a news conference of Innovative Products and Services in the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry of Guangdong Province on Wednesday.

In addition to officials in charge of AI and robotic industry, senior business executives from high-tech companies, including Huawei, Tencent, Midea-Kuka, GAC, TCL and CVTE, have attended the conference to promote the development of AI and robotics industry in Guangdong.
