As April 13, 2025, marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, Mohammad Faisal, the executive director of the Center of Reform on Economics (CORE) Indonesia, emphasizes the strategic importance of deepening economic cooperation between the two nations. In a recent interview with China Daily, he noted that such collaboration could play a crucial role in rebalancing the global economic landscape.

Faisal observed that over the past decade, China has become one of Indonesia's major trading partners and the largest source of foreign investment, with bilateral cooperation growing stronger, particularly in the fields of trade and investment.

Given today's uncertain global economy, characterized by volatility, arbitrariness, and rising trade protectionism, Faisal stressed the need to enhance both the quality and scale of bilateral cooperation. He called for greater alignment of investment with sustainable economic development, environmental protection, and improved social governance.
