Situated along a migratory path for numerous bird species, the Donggu Lake area boasts exceptional wetland conditions and biodiversity. In recent years, efforts have been made to restore and protect the wetlands, including ecological restoration, the adoption of green farming practices, and scientific adjustments to agricultural structures. An ecological reserve was established in 2017, with an investment of more than 7 million yuan ($1 million).
