Pegasus fondant artwork ushers in Year of the Horse in Shanghai

"The image of Pegasus was borrowed from traditional Chinese culture, and in order to attract the young generation, we also blended in anime elements to make the artwork equally innovative and stylish," Zhou explained during a ceremony held on Friday to celebrate the debut of the fondant horse, alongside ten other works by him.

Cai Daying, chairman of the China National Arts & Crafts Society, praised the exhibition as a model of the integration of traditional craftsmanship and modern art, saying the show has explicated the vitality of fondant artworks through innovation.
