Many focus on China's large trade surplus, but overlook the other side of the equation. The reality is that China imports roughly 35 million yuan every minute, or about 50 billion yuan a day, totaling around 18.5 trillion yuan a year. This has made China the world's second-largest import market for 17 consecutive years. In other words, China is not just selling to the world — it is also buying from it, at scale.
