41 miners trapped after Ukrainian strike in Luhansk region: official

MOSCOW -- Ukraine struck the Bilorichenska coal mine in the Luhansk region, trapping 41 miners underground, said Leonid Pasechnik, the Moscow-appointed head of the region, on Monday.

"All the relevant services are taking steps to rescue the miners and restore power to the mine," he said, adding that contact with the miners had been established and that they have access to drinking water.
