For the first time, the upcoming China Import and Export Fair will feature a dedicated zone for consumer-grade and agricultural drones to showcase the achievements of the low-altitude industry, according to the event's organizers.

The event, commonly known as the Canton Fair, is regarded as a barometer of China's foreign trade. It will begin its 139th session on April 15 in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.

The new zone is scheduled for the fair's first phase from April 15-19. It will highlight diverse drone applications, from entertainment to smart agriculture, the organizers said.

Technological breakthroughs will be displayed, including advancements in flight control systems, communication and navigation, AI obstacle avoidance, and new energy propulsion. Flight platforms designed for logistics and delivery will also be highlighted, alongside real-time kinematic navigation, tethered hovering, and intelligent spraying for high-precision operations.

Application scenarios for China's consumer-grade drones have expanded in recent years to cover cultural and tourism displays, passenger experiences, aerial photography, lighting, broadcasting, communication relays, transportation, and firefighting.
