In an interview at the 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit, vice-chair of the WIC Francis Gurry said AI is advancing rapidly, which may leave a lot of people and countries behind. He believed that, besides empowerment, we need to find a way to equip people with the skills to participate and make sure that more people share the benefits of AI.
