Hebei pupils embrace reading corners for World Book Day

Pupils at No 1 Experimental Primary School in Guangping county of Handan, Hebei province, have taken to reading corners during break times as part of activities celebrating World Book Day, which falls on Thursday.

The initiative is the latest effort under a local "Bookish Campus" campaign that has been running for several years.

Local authorities said improved reading environments and regular literacy events have significantly boosted students' interest in books and overall academic abilities, laying a cultural foundation for their all-round development.
