Martin Mpana, dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in China, emphasized the enduring importance of people-to-people exchanges in China-Africa relations.

"Today's celebration reminds us that the strongest partnerships are ultimately built between people. Through culture, dialogue, and shared experiences, we deepen understanding and strengthen the bonds of friendship between Africa and China," he said.

Speaking on behalf of the cultural festival coordinating committee, Hodan Osman Abdi, Somali ambassador to China, emphasized the significance of this year's event.

"This year, given its significance as the year of people-to-people exchange, we wanted to celebrate Africa Day differently. We wished to move beyond simply commemorating a date on the calendar and instead create a space where people can genuinely encounter Africa … through experience, interaction, and human connection".
