Wang Ya, head of the performing arts center at the Shanghai Film Art Academy, explained that the project originated from practical teaching needs. Faculty and students engaged in the entire data collection and annotation process, enhancing classroom training and extending the reach of performance majors to various language-related industries, including digital human production, animation dubbing, and speech rehabilitation.
She further noted that a similar dance motion database developed by the academy was acquired by a government department, exemplifying the synergy between education and industry transformation.
