Almost 6,000 people took part in the 2026 Sino-Russian Cross-border Marathon from Heihe in China's Heilongjiang province on Saturday.
The event featured a marathon, a half-marathon, and a 10-kilometer cross-border bridge run.
Starting from the Tengchong-Heihe Theme Park of the Population Geography Boundary of China, the runners crossed the Heihe-Blagoveshchensk Heilongjiang Highway Bridge, then crossed the Chinese-Russian border on their way to the port in Russia's Amur Oblast.
In celebration of China's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the organizing committee provided all runners with custom Dragon Boat Festival wristbands and distributed zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) to athletes, volunteers and frontline staff.
