Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) hosted a series of Open Day events in Uzbekistan, from June 16 to 17, to boost China-Uzbekistan cultural exchanges and strengthen bilateral friendship.

The main event brought more than 350 participants, including representatives of Chinese State-owned enterprises stationed in Uzbekistan, faculty and students from Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) and local mainstream media reps.

An exhibition presenting DEC's achievements in advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation was held, with a Chinese cultural experience zone.

Participants gained firsthand experience of the distinctive appeal of traditional Chinese culture through immersive and interactive activities, such as Chinese calligraphy, joint creation of the themed painting "China-Uzbekistan Friendship across Mountains and Seas," and a tasting of Liangshan buckwheat tea.

Meanwhile, DEC launched themed Open Day activities at its project sites in the four regions of Uzbekistan: Qashqadaryo, Samarkand, Surxondaryo and Jizzakh.

Highlights included the unveiling ceremony of the Central Asian Tortoise Nature Reserve, the donation of clean energy equipment models, live demonstrations by AI-powered robots and cultural sharing on Dragon Boat Festival customs.

These activities helped raise awareness of clean energy and highlighted the benefits of sustainable development technologies.

In recent years, cooperation between China and Uzbekistan has steadily deepened in such fields as energy infrastructure construction, clean energy development, technological innovation and talent cultivation.

Upholding the "China–Central Asia Spirit," DEC has contributed to Uzbekistan's stable energy supply and fueled its economic and social development. To date, DEC has supplied Uzbekistan with power generation equipment boasting a total installed capacity of 1.1 gigawatts — supporting projects in solar power, hydropower and energy storage.
