Anti-drug day features public awareness effort

The Jiangbei Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center, established in 1984, initially focused on females but has been serving males since June last year. Because of its outstanding achievements in drug rehabilitation, education and assistance over the years, the center has been recognized by the Ministry of Justice's Drug Rehabilitation Administration for achieving 10 consecutive years of drug rehabilitation under mandatory quarantine with safety and stability.

From January 2025 to May this year, China has seen a 30 percent decline in drug-related prosecutions, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Despite this decline, prosecutors continue to urge sustained enforcement because of ongoing challenges, such as cross-border drug smuggling and the emergence of novel drugs.
