According to Boeing's 2025 Pilot and Technician Outlook, the global aviation industry will require nearly 2.4 million newly qualified pilots, maintenance technicians and cabin crew over the next 20 years. More than 700,000 of those will be needed in the Asia-Pacific, including about 203,000 pilots, 215,000 maintenance technicians and 282,000 cabin crew.

Boeing said its original Shanghai Training Campus, which opened in 2009, trained more than 7,000 aviation professionals during its 17 years of operation before relocating to the new site.
