Purple verbena blooms in tiered swathes on mountain slopes in Hubei

Vast stretches of purple verbena are in full bloom in Lyucongpo town of the Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture, Hubei province, unfolding in tiered swathes along the mountain slopes. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

What serves as a ski resort in winter transforms into an alpine meadow in summer. Visitors may enjoy the thrilling grass-sledding, take a leisurely horseback ride, and wander among the floral aroma.

The flowering season lasts from June through October.
