Among the fruits of joint orchard in Kyrgyzstan: Chinese apples
Wang Zhigao, director of the park service center of Yangling Modern Agriculture International Cooperation Group, said that newly introduced Chinese apple varieties and planting technology "deliver the outstanding advantages of high efficiency and high yields".
The saplings can bear fruit in the second year after transplantation and reach full productivity two years earlier than that achieved using local traditional planting patterns. The yield has increased by 300 kilograms per 667 square meters.
The orchard is equipped with an intelligent integrated watering and fertilizing system that allows precision irrigation and sophisticated scientific management of the orchard, Wang said, adding that this has raised the utilization rate of agricultural water resources by 70 percent.
