Chinese military to participate in exercise in Indonesia

The Chinese military will participate in the "trident resolve" live-field exercise under the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting Plus in Indonesia from Tuesday to Friday, according to China's Ministry of National Defense.

The ministry stated that the Chinese military will send a detachment to the exercise, which is set against the backdrop of earthquakes and secondary complex disasters. It includes tabletop simulations and field drills such as rubble search and rescue, multinational joint field medical treatment, epidemic prevention and disinfection, and emergency disaster communication response.

The exercise aims to enhance the transnational coordination and practical humanitarian rescue capabilities of all participating parties, further improve the regional disaster emergency response mechanism, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability, the ministry said.
