Tairex, an AI-healthcare firm incubated by Tsinghua University's Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), has launched its Multidisciplinary Human-Agent Collaboration (MHAC) Ecosystem for Agent Hospital, seeking to solve long-standing pain points for AI deployment in clinical scenarios.
Instead of developing a standalone "super AI doctor", the platform builds physician digital-twin agents that learn individual clinicians' diagnostic logic. Multiple specialty-specific AI agents can collaborate on shared patient cases on one unified interface.
One test case showed a respiratory-specialized agent proactively warned against risky medication for an asthma patient receiving endocrine treatment.
When agents deliver conflicting suggestions, discrepancies will be clearly flagged with cited evidence, while human physicians retain full authority over final treatment decisions.
"AI needs to evolve and improve together with the healthcare system. Isolated tools cannot sustain continuous improvement. AI needs to contribute and iterate across the full patient care journey," said Qiao Yuchen, chief product officer at Tairex.
Since 2025, Agent Hospital has gone through real-world trials across Tsinghua University-affiliated hospitals, grassroots community health centers and regional public hospitals. It helps front-line doctors generate standard medical records, send real-time risk alerts and tap cross-specialty knowledge, easing workload amid heavy patient flow.
Trained with simulated AI patients, the system covers over 20 clinical specialties and boasts 96-percent-plus accuracy on the MedQA dataset. It has passed China's Multi-Level Protection Scheme (MLPS) Level 3 certification and references global privacy rules including GDPR for data governance.
Tairex is advancing global localization with its "plug-and-play large language model" framework. Its bilingual virtual consultation room has drawn medical users from Italy, Britain, Turkiye and other countries. The company is in active talks with authorities and institutions in Singapore, Italy, Pakistan and Kazakhstan for regional medical-AI partnerships.
