Overview
A national key university under the leadership of the Ministry of Education of China, this university is one of the first universities to be constructed under Project 211.
The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), located in northeastern Beijing, was founded in 1951. It under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, and as part of Project 211, a government program to transform about 100 Chinese universities into exceptionally high quality academic institutions in the 21st century. UIBE emphasizes scientific research in Chinese economic and business development.
After nearly sixty years of development, UIBE has become a multi-disciplinary university specializing in the fields of economics, management, liberal arts, law and science. It is competitive in subjects such as international trade, law (international law), finance, business management and foreign languages (business languages). The school offers nearly 40 majors to overseas students in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study. More than 10 majors in economics and management are offered entirely in English.
With a surfeit of talent, UIBE has attracted the best minds and has educated famous leaders generation after generation. Most professors have overseas experience with strong skills in teaching and research, enabling the school to be part of the National Talent Cultivation Project.
UIBE has a total enrollment of nearly 13,000 full-time students, including more than 3,000 international students from over 120 countries. They are welcomed for their sound professional knowledge and skills, strong linguistic ability, creativity, critical thinking skills and rich practical experiences. Graduates have been employed in banks, multinational corporations and commercial institutions stationed abroad.

Programs
Short-term Chinese training programs
Short-term Chinese training programs vary from two to 12 weeks. They focus on developing speaking skills, and the college does not stipulate the students' Chinese proficiency level. Chinese language classes are held in the mornings during working days for a total of 20 hours per week. In the afternoons, the college provides one-on-one teaching. Lectures and historical site visits will also be arranged.
Short-term business studies (in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese)
The short-term program lasts for 4-6 weeks; each semester offers 4 courses. The program will not open until at least 10 students have applied. At the end of the program, the students will receive a certificate of completion. UIBE organizes trips to companies or historical sites, such as places in Xi'an, Dunhuang, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macao. Tuition fees and expenses for visiting and trips will be applied according to the specific curriculum and travel destinations.

Chinese language training programs
Programs offered:
Elementary Chinese
The program is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels with each level divided into three to allow students at similar levels to be grouped together. The curriculum focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing, modern grammar and essay writing.
Business Chinese
The program is divided into five levels. Students should have 100 hours of Chinese language learning experiences, or know 200-300 Chinese words. According to different skill levels, the School of International Education sets the corresponding business Chinese courses, including international business Chinese, oral practice, and business Chinese listening and reading. Through Chinese language study and participation in language practice, students can attain higher Chinese proficiency in a business environment.
Intensive Chinese
The School of International Education of UIBE has taken the lead in the country to launch a Chinese language-training program, "Intensive Chinese", which is designed for students to improve their Chinese proficiency in a short amount of time.
Training objective: For students to improve their Chinese proficiency in a short time.
Training goals: With high intensity training, a scientific curriculum, and flexible supplementary means after class, students can make progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Teaching method: Allow students to study in ordinary and tutorial classes, combine group class teaching with individual teaching, give classroom instructions with extracurricular activities (debating, internship, speaking competitions and travel.) Term: The program lasts for 16 weeks within one semester, and classes are held for 30 hours each week (teachers instruct students to review and preview their studies).
Compulsory courses: Discussion on hot social topics, business newspaper reading, commercial conversation, and training course for the HSK.
Management method: Program adopts a close relationship management method, avoids mother tongue disturbances, and helps students achieve Chinese study goals as soon as possible.
