The first Agriculture Carnival kicked off in Strawberry Expo Park in Changping district, Beijing, on March 23 and will last until May 12. The event offers a rare chance to view over 400 distinctive agricultural products and experience over 30 innovative agricultural projects. Leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture and Beijing municipal government attended the opening ceremony.
Located in Strawberry Expo Park, where the seventh International Strawberry Expo was held in 2012, the carnival occupies 1,000 acres (4 square kilometers) of area and is divided into three exhibition halls and two parks, including the Innovative Agricultural Hall, Strawberry Technology Exhibition Hall, Distinctive Agricultural Product Hall, Carnival Theme Park and Strawberry Picking Park.
The carnival will also host a series of wonderful interactive activities, including a photography competition called Agriculture Carnival in My Eyes, the Agricultural Products Fair to sell distinctive local agricultural products, the Best Strawberry Competition, the Youth Carnival, the Strawberry Technology Exhibition, the Creative Agriculture Experience Activity and the Picking Festival.
