Beijing’s Chaoyang district is set to work with Israel and South Korea to help domestic enterprises realize their international expansion strategies, according to a source on the distribution service forum of the Beijing Fair.
The Chaoyang International Economic and Trade Cooperation Service Center signed cooperation agreements with the two countries’ at the fair on Wednesday.
According to the agreement with Israel, the service center and the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce plan to build a high-tech trade center, which will house more than 800 Israeli companies in Chaoyang. The local government will also offer localized services for this project.
The high-tech trade center will attract more Israeli companies to settle in Chaoyang, and promote the commercialization of high technologies.
Chaoyang also reached an agreement with a South Korean company to provide services for companies of both countries, including the construction of a business certification system to provide evaluation and certification.
“Our service center is mainly engaged in serving domestic enterprises with the goals of ‘bring in’ and ‘going global’. It will also help to share information on investment projects and provide various services, such as business registration, intellectual property rights protection and international arbitration in foreign countries. Meanwhile, foreign investment projects will enjoy customized services here,” said a representative from the Chaoyang International Economic and Trade Cooperation Service Center.
The planned center will make better use of Chaoyang’s resources - such as communication with different embassies in the district - to better serve as an international trade hub.
On May 10, the service center hosted the Beijing CBD International Economic and Trade Fair , and will hold more events of this kind, to explore more channels for domestic enterprises to “go global”.
Participants from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South America will take part in upcoming fairs, and the center plans to host special fairs focusing on individual countries such as Greece, Romania and Spain.
From 2010 to April of this year, Chaoyang district has attracted more than 170 foreign investment projects, with a total investment of nearly $1.3 billion, the representative added.
