This year's Fragrant Hill Tourism Summit for the World Tourism City Federation (WTCF) will be held in Beijing from September 11-14. There will also be an exhibition tour in Beijing's Wangfujing Street from Sept 10 to 13.
The opening ceremony of the 2013 Beijing Fragrant Hill Tourism Summit will take place at the Beijing Convention Center on Sept 12. It will include a wide range of activities, such as speeches by presidents of the WTCF, a membership initiation ceremony for new city members, an establishment ceremony for three summits, and the release of the Beijing Consensus, which focuses on tourism cooperation and service specification among tourism cities around the world.
As a basic framework for world tourism services, the Beijing Consensus will lay a foundation for the construction of public service. It will guide the members of the WTCF to establish standards for both facilities and services.
Representatives of all the members will sign the document before the official opening of the summit. The consensus will advocate international exchange and cooperation and provide convenient services for travelers of its member cities.
