The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Forestry has paid great efforts to the construction of an urban leisure park. It has built small parks around residential areas, offering relaxation areas for residents.
Dongguantou Leisure Park was built early this year near Fengyi Bride in Fengtai district. It used to be an area cluttered with rubbish, but after reconstruction, became a place for morning exercises and relaxation. The park has a specially designed ring-shaped path, sightseeing pavilion and chairs so residents can enjoy the fruits of urban greening in their residential area.
According to statistics, in the past three years, Beijing has built more than 60 urban leisure parks in its residential areas.
