Air pollution penalties increased

Beijing's legislature has raised financial penalties for incidents of air pollution, lifting the maximum fines, according to a second draft of a regulation released on Wednesday. The Beijing People's Congress canceled the maximum fines for five types of air pollution incidents if the offenders had already been penalized by law enforcement departments twice or more.
