This year’s Chaoyang Fashion Shopping Festival kicked off on April 17 in the Aegean shopping mall. The event will last until April 25.
Customers there will get the opportunity to buy branded garments from the city’s largest garment export market – Yabaolu marketplace – at affordable prices, and taste delicious Italian food and specialties from Chifeng in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
It is the sixth year that Chaoyang is hosting the fashion shopping festival. A total of three brands – Amelie Galanti, KATELENAWRNAGER and LYPULY, which are domestic brands for export, will make their debuts during the nine-day event.
Shoppers can select agricultural products from Chifeng, including millet, buckwheat and mutton, at a trade fair in the shopping mall, where they will also have access to a variety of wines and cheeses from Italy. The retail sales of consumer goods in Chaoyang district reached 40 billion yuan ($6.44 billion) in the first quarter of this year, and the district continues to be in the lead among all districts and counties in Beijing, according to statistics.
This is in part due to the district’s good planning and promotions, such as cooperation between e-commerce enterprises and research institutes, with promotion on social media tools like Wechat and convenient mobile payment, said a representative from the Chaoyang district commerce commission.
