As of May 4, more than 11,200 businessmen and participants from 86 countries and regions had registered for the Third China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) to be held between May 28 and June 1, China's Ministry of Commerce said during a press conference on May 5.
A total of 1,553 enterprises will showcase their products and seek business opportunities during the five day event, and 17 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, South Africa and Australia, will send delegations to the fair. Some of them will roll out theme day and special activities.
More than 100 activities will be held during the fair, and around 23,000 participants are expected to attend the event.
One of the highlight this year is the online business matching system launched for the first time to help the event's participants find potential business partners.
So far, 693 service trade companies have submitted their requests for business matching services, and 278 have successfully found partners.
A 3,500-square-meter business matching hall will be set up at the main venue to facilitate offline negotiation between buyers and suppliers.
The fair has become an influential brand that attracts more quality resources and flagship products in the global service trade. StoryDrive China, the Frankfurt Book Fair's all-media international forum for trends and innovation, will be upgraded and renamed StroyDrive Asia. The Third UrbanTec Asia Conference, derived from the UrbanTec China, will invite 32 German enterprises to attend the fair for the first time. The Government of New South Wales will organize more than 20 businesses from the creative design sector to attend the event for the first time.
Businesses from the world's top 30 countries and regions in the service trade, including the United States, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong, will also showcase their quality products across a full array of sectors, such as green buildings, cold chain logistics, business services and supply chain management.
The CIFTIS is an annual event established in 2012. Approved by the State Council, it is a state-level, international and comprehensive fair for the trade in services, hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Beijing Municipal Government.
