A seminar on services for Zhongguancun enterprises and the ASEAN economies was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on May 31, during the ongoing 3rd China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services.
Xu Ningning, executive president of the China-ASEAN business council, introduced support policies of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) at the seminar. Ambassadors from ASEAN countries, including the Philippines, Laos and Myanmar, demonstrated the latest development of their nation’s service industries to Zhongguancun enterprises.
In addition, the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China and the International-Thai Business Association gave a brief introduction of themselves, as well as cooperation with Thai service enterprises.
In the trade promotion sector, Dai Jian, secretary-general of Zhongguancun Federation of Social Organizations, expressed his expectations of developing CAFTA into the world's third largest economy with the cooperation of ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, outstanding enterprises, belonging to Zhongguancun's software industry, high-end equipment manufacturing industry and bio-pharmaceutical industry, promoted a number of projects to the delegates.
The Philippines' Ambassador to China, Erlinda Basilio, pointed out that the seminar was of great significance for the economic development of CAFTA and Asia. Guests who attended the event agreed to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Zhongguancun's enterprises.
