Zhongguancun announced the establishment of an expert advisory committee for its big data industrial alliance and a big data financial service platform at a signing ceremony in Beijing on June 19.
The committee consists of more than 70 members including Ma Jiantang, head of the National Bureau of Statistics; Guo Hong, director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and E Weinan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It will promote innovations in big data transactions and help protect data security.
Rules for Zhongguancun Shuhai Big Data Transaction Platform – China’s first service platform for big data – were also released during the event.
"These rules will help regulate market behavior, including online data trading, offline data transactions and managed data transactions," said Wei Kai, deputy secretary general of the Zhongguancun Industrial Alliance for Big Data Trade and Transaction.
Founded in February this year, the platform has integrated more than 1,000 open API data from Jingdong, Sina and Tianyi. A total of 85 transactions have generated 1.12 million yuan ($179,312) using this platform.
