BEIJING -- The 2014 Beijing International Marathon has started registration process for foreign runners, organizers revealed here on Sunday.
The organizers have adjusted the race events and slots allocation with the mini marathon event being cancelled in 2014. The full-race marathon will be open to 26,000 entrants and half marathon to 4000 entrants.
According to the organizers, the registration for foreign runners start on Sunday, two days later than the start of the process for local runners on Friday. A green channel will be available for foreign entrants via the official website of the race and they will be given a certain number of priority race slots.
Launched in 1981, Beijing Marathon is the most historical marathon race in China and also an IAAF Gold Label race for seven consecutive years. The 34th edition of Beijing Marathon is scheduled to kick off on October 19, 2014 at Beijing Tian'anmen Square and finish at National Olympic Park.
