The viticulture history of Yanqing county can be traced back more than 300 years to the reign of Emperor Kangxi. Since 1979, the Yanqing grape industry has made great progress; and to date, the planted area in the county has reached nearly 1,333 hectares.
In 2006, nearly 47 hectares of vineyard in Qianheilongmiao villiage, Zhangshanying town, received organic certification from Beijing Orient Jiahe Certification Co, making it the first grape production area with organic certification in Beijing.
Yanqing county has also gradually become a demonstration area of the winery industry on the south side of Beishan, Beijing. At present, a breeding base of 40 hectares of high-quality nursery stock has been set up and 13 quality wine grape varieties have been introduced.
