On August 12, China's largest commercial property developer Wanda Group announced the launch of 200 children's theme parks, which will start to open in 2020.

Wanda Children Entertainment Co, a subdivision of the company, is overseeing these family parks targeted towards children between the ages of 0-8. It is also officially launching its Wanda Kids Place brand, which seeks to become China's largest chain store for the entertainment of children.
The parks will span areas between 3,000 and 5,000 square meters. It will highlight photography, birthday venues, family diners, cartoon plazas and places designated for children.

By the end of 2014, the number of Wanda Plazas will reach 109 in China, increasing by more than 25 each year. Wanda Kids Place is relying on this expansion to kickstart its countrywide spread.
By 2020, the theme parks' scheduled debut year, there will be nearly 200 Wanda Plazas in business.
Wanda is also working with professional animators to produce a 50-episode series featuring the new brand. It will begin broadcasting next year, designed to incite excitement amongst audiences.
